Microsoft Corporation, the software giant has been serving us for more than a decade and they have offered us plenty of platforms and applications to work with. We have enjoyed or have at least used all of them. Microsoft Office suite is the office application that we all had been introduced to few years ago. The messages that you send using Microsoft Outlook normally gets connected to the server using Simple Mail Transfer Protocol which is also known as SMTP. This will allow you in receiving the messages, but not to send them.

For Outlook 2010

  • You can open Microsoft Outlook and click File option that you found at the top of the screen. 
  • Now select the Account Settings button and select Account Settings on the menu that comes up. 
  • Choose the email for which you need the SMTP server address and then select Change button. 
  • The Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) field will have information about your current SMTP server. 
For Outlook 2007 and 2003
  • You need to select Tools menu that you find at the top.
  • Select Account Settings if you have Outlook 2007 or you can choose Email Accounts if you have Outlook 2003.
  • Select View or Change Existing Email Accounts and choose Next in Outlook 2003.
  • Now choose the email account for which you require SMTP server information and you can select the Change button.
  • The Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) field will have information about your current SMTP server.

Procedure To Set Up Multiple Inboxes In Outlook 2007

Microsoft Outlook is one of the best email-clients, popular mostly among Windows users. Microsoft Outlook 2007 is one of Outlook’s recent editions with advanced features. It has many excellent features that can be used for various purposes. One of the obvious benefits of using Outlook 2007 is that you can easily set up multiple inboxes. This is especially helpful when you have many people using the same computer. By setting up multiple email profiles, each and every individual can check his or her email from the Outlook program without being concerned about privacy or security. It is even possible for you to customize the Outlook setting so that each user is required to enter a password before gaining access to an inbox. This enhances security.

Instructions for tweaking the Outlook setting 
  • At first, you need to click on the Windows Start button. You will find this button located at the lower-left corner of your desktop screen. You need to select Control Panel after that.
  • Then you need to click on the User Accounts option and select Mail. The Outlook Mail Setup window launches.
  • After that, you can click on the Email Accounts button to launch the email setup wizard. Then you need to type in all of the account information for the first email inbox you wish to set up. You will be prompted to enter your email address, password and mail server settings. If you do not know the mail server settings, you can contact your Internet-service provider to get them.
  • Then, click on the Finish button when the email setup wizard is complete. This takes you back to the Mail Setup window.
  • After that, you can repeat Steps 3 and 4 for each email inbox you wish to set up.
  • Then click on the Show Profiles button from the Mail Setup window. A Mail window launches. Then click on the Add button to add a new email profile.
  • After that, you need to enter a display name for your email address into the Your Name field. Enter into the Email Address field the email address you wish to assign to the display name. For privacy and security, you can leave the password fields blank. Then click on the OK button. Repeat this step for each email account that has been created. As you create each profile, it appears in the Mail window underneath the General tab.
  • Then click on the radio button that is labeled Prompt for a Profile to be Used. Click the Apply button. Click OK to close the Mail window.

Using Microsoft Outlook For Yahoo Email Address

The email application client that comes as part of the Microsoft Office suite is Microsoft Outlook. Outlook helps a user manage and access email very easily and it is possible to add Yahoo email account in Outlook. This will help the user access the emails coming to the Yahoo account from Outlook. Instructions

  • Start Microsoft Outlook application in your system. Next, from the menu File, you need to click on the option Tools. Click on the option Account Settings after scrolling down through the list.
  • Next, you need to click on the tab Email followed by clicking the button New. This will make available a new dialog box.
  • Now, you need to select the option for Microsoft Exchange, IMAP, HTTP or POP3. After that, click Next.
  • In to the field called Name, you need to enter your complete name and note that, this is the name that will appear to the recipient once you send the email.
  • In to the field for Email address, you need to type your full Yahoo address and check mark the box that is seen adjacent to Manually configure server settings or additional server types. After that, click Next.
  • Now, the option called Internet E-mail needs to be selected followed by clicking Next.
  • Next, click on Account type and select the option called POP3. As the Incoming mail server, you need to select pop.mail.yahoo.com.sg and as Outgoing mail server, select smtp.mail.yahoo.com.sg.
  • Now, in to the field for username, you need to enter your full Yahoo user ID and the corresponding password in the field for Password.
  • Do not check mark the box for Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA). Now click on the option More Settings.
  • Now you need to select the tab Outgoing server and check mark the box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
  • Next, you need to select the tab Advanced and check mark the box for This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) for the section Incoming Server. The port number assigned for this should be 995. Similarly, check mark the box for the same for the Outgoing server. After that, assign the value 465 as the port number, followed by clicking the OK button.
  • Finally, click Next.
